Michigan Leadership Workshop Community Impact Training
On July 25, 2009, the Michigan Leadership Workshop, a project of the Working Families Win campaign, will offer a powerful learning and leadership development opportunity for progressive activists, volunteers, and candidates in southwest and south-central Michigan. Attendees may choose from workshops addressing a variety of skills and knowledge areas enabling them to maximize their impact for transformative community change, including:
- Envisioning your community role and impact
- Your message and how to bring it to life
- Direct neighbor contact and relationship building
- Volunteer recruitment, management, and empowerment
- Fundraising fundamentals at the local level
- Media/news relations
- Technology and social media tools
- Critical emerging issues requiring new leadership
Participation in the training costs only $20, payable on arrival, and scholarships are available. If you are interested in attending, please email ryan@milead.net. You will be kept up to date as further event details become available.
