Working Families Win in Action in North Carolina!
Working Families Win North Carolina is a non-profit and non-partisan organization that works to change the economy in favor of working families. We will change the economy by building a sustainable grassroots infrastructure that will hold politicians accountable for campaign promises. Our volunteers pressure political candidates to adopt a working families platform and work to elect politicians who advance this agenda. We educate the public on critical decisions made daily in Washington & Raleigh and mobilize community residents to support policies that benefit working families.
American families are feeling the squeeze by skyrocketing energy and health care costs, while corporations are rewarded with billion dollar giveaways. Increasing educational costs and lack of good-paying jobs are forcing more people into debt. Elected officials have forgotten that they represent working families too. By working together, neighbor to neighbor, community to community, citizens can change our political structure and force politicians to listen and act in the best interest of working families.

Our volunteers pressure political candidates to adopt a working families platform and work to elect politicians who advance this agenda. We educate the public on critical decisions made daily in Washington & Raleigh and mobilize community residents to support policies that benefit working families.
North Carolina Working Families Win Agenda
Too many average working people are not doing well in today's economy. We are now in the fifth year of a recovery, corporate profits are at record highs, productivity is up, but working families are not sharing the benefits of this economic growth.
Wages are stagnant, the costs of energy and health care are rising, health care and retirement benefits are being cut, and personal debt is at record levels. Workers are falling behind, the gap between the rich and poor is growing, and the American middle class is at risk.
The portion of corporate receipts being paid in the form of wages and salaries is at its lowest point since the Great Depression. The value of work is being eroded, and the American Dream itself is at risk. This serious imbalance in the economy must, and can be corrected.
We must change our economy so that it rewards work, promotes the well-being of families, gives people enough time for the things that are most important to us, better protects the environment which we leave to our children and grandchildren, and provides the security that every working family deserves.
Such an economy is possible with new rules that reflect the values that our community shares: fairness, responsibility, hard work, and a concern for our neighbors and the next generation. We call on all candidates for federal, state and local office to take the following steps toward creating an economy that benefits working families in our community, and everywhere:
