| President Bush To Fundraise for White, GOP Candidates |

President Bush will visit the Albuquerque area next Tuesday to raise money for Republican congressional candidate Darren White and other GOP candidates in New Mexico, according to an invitation for the event.
Neither the White campaign nor the White House media affairs office would confirm the visit. It was not clear whether Bush would attend other events while in New Mexico.
In addition to raising money for White, who is seeking a seat in the Albuquerque-area 1st District, the fundraiser will also benefit other GOP candidates in New Mexico, the invitation said.
Bush will meet with Republican voters at a Los Ranchos de Albuquerque home Tuesday morning, said the invitation, which was issued by the Victory Darren White Fund, a joint fundraising committee established on the behalf of White and the state Republican Party Victory Committee.
Tickets for the event are $1,000 or attendees can pay $5,000 to have their photos taken with the president, the invitation said.
Former Albuquerque City Councilor Martin Heinrich, who's seeking the Democratic nomination in the Albuquerque-area 1st District, said the fundraiser comes as no surprise since White is a longtime supporter of Bush's failed policies.
"The president knows that Darren White is a George Bush Republican who will continue to advocate for endless war in Iraq and for economic policies that have left middle class families behind,'' Heinrich wrote.
A campaign spokeswoman for White did not immediately return calls to her office and cell phone seeking comment Tuesday.
White faces Republican state Sen. Joe Carraro in the June 3 primary. Heinrich is running against three other Democrats: former state Health Secretary Michelle Lujan Grisham, Albuquerque attorney Robert Pidcock and former Secretary of State Rebecca Vigil-Giron.
