Ultraconservative Rick Santorum, who pretends to care about the unemployed, decided to skip his own “jobs summit” and not tell anyone. The former Pennsylvania Senator was scheduled to meet with local businesses in the Cedar Falls Industrial park July 6 as a part of his latest Iowa campaign swing. But at the appointed hour, the only folks in attendance were Working Families Win Organizer Chris Schwartz and a news crew from NBC’s Waterloo affiliate KWWL. The local business that was supposed to host the “summit” knew nothing about it; calls made by the TV station to his campaign managers went unanswered. Iowans can judge for themselves how much importance Santorum really puts on solving the nation’s jobs crisis.
